Fabulous Happenings

This weekend I participated in the Walk to Empower for Breast Cancer Support. It was really fun. I raised $120 for the cause and earned a cute pink tee shirt. The event started really early on Sunday morning. There were vendors and all types of free giveaways to indulge in before the big walk started. All of the teams had on matching shirts or hats. We decorated our pink tee shirts a couple nights before with puffy paint. They came out pretty good! Even my shirt was kind of cute, which says a lot. I'm normally not very artistic, but I must admit, my shirt was pretty cute!

Once the walk began around 9:15 you could see a mass of pink floating around the National Mall. 45 minutes and 3 miles later we were at the finish line. It felt good to do something for someone else. To walk for women that have been diagnosed, and to show support for a cause that means so much to so many was special. Everyone was walking for someone. Until recently I didn't know of anyone with the disease, and I was proud to walk on behalf of a friend that's been a survivor for a year!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day as much as I did!

Obsessed

This weekend I was able to venture out to the local movie theatre to see the much talked about Obsessed starring Beyonce and the very handsome Idris Elba. I have to say that I enjoyed the film. It was surprisingly funny and entertaining. Obsessed is one of those movies that makes the audience talk to the screen. People were talking to Idris, telling him how crazy Ali Larter's character was. The movie plays out like a REALLY REALLY good Lifetime movie. So, with that said, would I pay to see the movie again? Probably not, but it was good and I would def NetFlix it or catch it OnDemand. I peeped Obsessed and gave one and a half snaps fab! Check it out for yourself, you might enjoy it!

The Mary Kay Way

Inside the Pink Bubble

Ever since Career Conference I have had a very clear vision of where I want my business to go. I know what I want to achieve, and I know what it is going to take to get there. There have been some very exciting things going with the fabulous ladies that I work with, and I am SOOO incredibly happy for them. It does a woman good to be surrounded by other positive women who want MORE!

This month I added another new woman to my team, and I could not be more excited for her. I know this business is going to give her so much! I am also excited for my team member out in Washington state who is already working hard and making things happen. This is what I love most about this business. I have been provided with the opportunity to help other women realize their dreams. It's AMAZING!

My personal business is moving full speed ahead, I will be promoted this month! I expected great things, and great things are happening! The MK world better watch for me! I can not wait to become a Sales Director and drive my free Pink car! I have a lot of work to do, and a wonderful journey in front of me. God already has my unit picked out, they are waiting for me. This first level of promotion is only the beginning!

Fabulous Happenings

Whew! What a week it has been so far! The first thing I want to do is send out a HUGE CONGRATS to my husband! As many of you know he is in the Army, and last week he was promoted to a SGT.! How exciting is that?!? I am SO PROUD of him for accomplishing everything he's set out to do. Believe it or not every single goal that he had for himself when we got married has been accomplished. He is such an inspiration to me. His dedication makes me work even harder, and for that I am truly grateful.

We've been so busy lately that I don't even know where to start with a recap.....So I'll promise to do better about posting more frequently. Trust me when I say we do have some VERY (and I do mean VERY) fabulous things going on and I can't wait to share them with all of you!

Nike Trainer

While I was floating around on the internet I came across a really cool widget on Nike.com. The widget works like a trainer and it keeps you on target for your fitness goal. I had so much fun picking out clothes and shoes for my trainer, but the best part about this widget is that it gives you the opportunity to earn FREE STUFF when your friends encourage you to achieve your goal! That's awesome! I'm going to figure out how to post my widget here, show your girl some love, and maybe I'll earn some free stuff!

Become a Witness for Fitness on your own and share your goals with me! I can't wait to see what everyone's character looks like! I peeped Nike's Widget Trainer and I gave it two snaps fab!

An Update

I know it's been awhile since I've updated the blog, sorry about that. Just so you know I have been a woman of my word and I've been keeping consistent with my workout routine. It is going great! I feel so much better!

Since I made the decision to walk as my form of exercise I decided to invest in some new shoes (I'll use ANY excuse to shop for shoes, LOL), and a walking belt. I went with the Danskin Walking belt because you can adjust the weight of the belt to fit your level of intensity. Now I know that there are going to be some naysayers thinking that the belt probably doesn't really make a difference because it only weighs up to five pounds.

Let.Me.Tell.You. I almost DIED, lol! Of course, I started out with all five pounds in the belt because I thought I could handle it. Mmm, my legs were BURNING before I made it off my street! It was an AMAZING workout. I'm not sure how it works (logistically speaking), but it works.

If you're a "walker" I highly recommend you try this belt out. It's easy to use and you'll burn double calories by using it!

The Miracle at St. Anna

Over the weekend, the hubby and I decided to make it an On-Demand night, and we ordered Spike Lee's latest film The Miracle at St.Anna. I have to admit I wasn't all that excited about seeing the film because I wasn't in the mood for any serious story-telling. The opening of the film quickly changed my mind. From the moment you meet the characters to the second the credits start to run, you'll be glad you gave Spike 2 and a half hours of your day. I peeped this movie and I gave it two snaps fab! Consider this movie the next time you make it a BlockBuster (or On-Demand) night!
